From documents to a grounded AI assistant

A useful company assistant needs access to relevant information. Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) combines document retrieval with language generation: find the passages related to a question, then provide that context to a model.

A project usually begins with a defined document collection, access rules, and a set of representative questions. Evaluation should check whether the response is supported by the retrieved material and whether it identifies missing information.
